PRIDE ISSUE: how could it possibly

By Jayla Jones

how could it possibly

by third year Jordyn Faucette

how could it possibly be wrong?

have you ever kissed you lover,

with your nose pressed into them?

Desperate to be as close as possible,

it’s not enough yes i

want more yes please

kiss me i can’t

breathe

have you ever tried to gasp quietly?

to gasp into the mouth of your lover,

As if their mouth their voice their air isn’t

your lifeblood as if

as if theirs isn’t the name

that tethers your soul to your body?

to feel dirty for gasping for air?

to blush and wring your hands,

nervous to breathe,

scared it’ll be addictive

to scrub at your fingers and your mouth,

hoping it’ll be out of you

by morning

oh how silly,

how wrong,

to try and love someone

without noise.

Gasp for it,

let your face flush,

not for fear,

but from the ferocity

of loving
