Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella $5.72 More is not necessarily better. A glitzy Hollywood cast and a big budget did not improve the wonderful 1957 teleplay (or its equally charming 1964 remake) upon which this version is based. This is partly because Brandy, cast in the title role, cannot act. Not helping matters are Whoopi Goldberg as the prince’s mother and Jason Alexander as his valet. Their shtick wears thin very quickly. However, … |

Bruce Dickinson Albums: The Chemical Wedding $10.28 Purchase includes free access to book updates online and a free trial membership in the publisher’s book club where you can select from more than a million books without charge. Chapters: The Chemical Wedding, Accident of Birth, Balls to Picasso, Tyranny of Souls, Tattooed Millionaire, the Best of Bruce Dickinson, Skunkworks, Alive, Alive in Studio A, Skunkworks Live Video, Skunkworks Live Ep, Scream for Me Brazil. Excerpt: Accident of Birth is a heavy metal album released in 1997 by Bruce Dickinson . It was published by Zomba Music .This is the second album made in collaboration with guitarist/producer Roy Z and is therefore much different from Bruce’s previous Skunkworks album . It marks Bruce’s return to his more melodic style of singing. He was also assisted by another former Iron Maiden member Adrian Smith and the two would later return to the band in early 1999. Thanks to the slightly bigger success of this album, Bruce would work with Roy Z in the future on his solo albums (including his latest, Tyranny of Souls ).The cover art was done by Derek Riggs , best known for being the creator of Iron Maiden ‘s mascot Eddie and the artwork on all Iron Maiden albums/singles/posters/tour brochures throughout 1980-1990 (and sporadically afterwards up until 2000′s Brave New World other than one additional Eddie drawing for the cover of his book Run for Cover ). Four versions of the album cover exist. The regular European release had Edison (as the jester was jokingly named as “Eddie’s Son”) bursting out of a man’s stomach. The regular cover only shows the stomach, but the poster that came with the limited edition of the album made it clear that the stomach belongs to a man. This was deemed too explicit for the U.S. market, where the album was released with a frontal view of the puppet. The 2005 re-release also has a different cover. The outer cardboard sleeve features the puppet nailed to a cross, while the cover art on the CD booklet itself is the one |

Guitarist Adrian Smith replaced Stratton, and a “consistent highlight”, Killers, was released in 1981. Later that year, vocalist Bruce Dickinson replaced Paul Di’Anno, marking the beginning of a series of top-ten high-impact releases. They issued “the 1982 masterpiece”, The Number of the Beast, becoming the band’s first release to top the UK charts, and receive a platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America. Drummer Nicko McBrain replaced Clive Burr, and the band released Piece of Mind in 1983, followed by a “true heavy metal achievement”, 1984′s Powerslave. The melody is that of the French song “Comme d’habitude” composed in 1967 by Claude François and Jacques Revaux. Anka’s English lyrics are unrelated to the original French by Claude François and Gilles Thibaut. “My Way” is often quoted as the most remade song in history. The lyrics of “My Way” tell the story of a man who is nearing death. He is comfortable with and takes responsibility for how he dealt with all the twists of his life while maintaining a respectable degree of integrity. Paul Anka heard the original 1967 French pop song, Comme d’habitude (as usual) performed by Claude Francois with music by Claude Francois and Jacques Revaux and lyrics by Claude Francois and Gilles Thibault, while on holiday in the south of France. He flew to Paris to negotiate the rights to the song. In a 2007 interview, he said: “I |

Steve Miller (Musician) $49.4 Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Steve Miller (born October 5, 1943, Milwaukee, Wisconsin) is an American guitarist and singer/songwriter. Beginning his career in blues and blues rock, Miller’s music later changed to a more popular-oriented sound which earned him success with a series of singles and albums from the mid-1970s through the early 1980s. Miller was born in Milwaukee to Dr. George “Sonny” Miller, a pathologist, jazz enthusiast, hat salesman and amateur recording engineer, and his wife Bertha, a jazz-influenced singer. Miller was taught his first guitar chords at age five by his godfather, Les Paul, pioneer of the electric guitar and multitrack recording. Les Paul and his wife Mary Ford were regular visitors at the Miller house and Dr. Miller was best man at their wedding. Paul encouraged young Miller to use his prodigious talents, and much of Miller’s success has been attributed to Paul’s tutelage. Miller still uses some of the techniques taught to him at that time, and it is no coincidence that Miller was signed to Capitol Records, the same label as Paul. |
